About Denzie

Twenty years of listening, learning, and treating

I'm Denzie, a fully qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturist based in Brighton. I've been in practice since 2004, and every year I'm still learning from my patients. Every appointment is an opportunity to explore the connections between your physical health, emotional wellbeing and lifestyle so that together we can create a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

My story

I trained at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture, graduating in 2004 with a deep grounding in the classical principles of Chinese medicine — five element theory, tongue and pulse diagnosis, and the understanding that the body, mind, and spirit are inseparable.

What drew me to acupuncture was its capacity to treat the whole person. Not just the symptom that brings someone through the door, but the pattern beneath it — the constitutional tendencies, the emotional landscape, the life circumstances that shape how we feel. That philosophy has guided my practice ever since.

Over two decades I've worked with patients across a wide range of conditions: chronic pain, fertility challenges, stress and anxiety, hormonal health, and much more. Each person I see reminds me why I chose this work.

My approach

I believe good acupuncture begins with good listening. Before I place a single needle, I want to understand you — your history, your patterns, what matters to you. Treatment is always tailored, never formulaic. I draw on classical TCM alongside a working knowledge of current research, and I'm not afraid to refer on when another approach would serve you better.

Unhurried appointments

I never rush a session. You'll always have time to talk, and I'll always have time to listen.

Rooted in tradition

My practice is grounded in classical Chinese medicine — a system refined over thousands of years of clinical observation.

Evidence-informed

I keep up with current research and integrate it where it adds value, without losing sight of the whole-person approach.

Honest and collaborative

I'll always tell you what I think, what I can help with, and when another practitioner might be better placed to support you.

A note to new patients

If you're considering acupuncture for the first time, I know it can feel like a big step. I'd encourage you to get in touch before booking if you have questions — I'm happy to have a brief conversation to help you decide whether it's right for you. There's no pressure, and no obligation. I simply want you to feel informed and at ease before you arrive.

The practice

I practise from Higher Ground in central Brighton — a beautiful, calm space that's home to a community of ten resident therapists. The building has a wonderful atmosphere: a café on the ground floor, treatment rooms above, and a shared commitment to holistic health and wellbeing. It's a place people tend to feel at ease in from the moment they arrive.
