Woman cradling stomach, representing digestive wellbeing

Gut health & digestion

Your gut and your wellbeing are deeply connected.

Personalised acupuncture consultations for people navigating digestive concerns — from bloating and IBS to irregular digestion and stress-related gut symptoms.

A whole-person approach

Digestion in Traditional Chinese Medicine

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the digestive system is central to overall health. The Spleen and Stomach are considered the root of post-natal energy — responsible for transforming food and fluids into the nourishment your body needs.

When digestion is disrupted — whether through stress, irregular eating, illness or other factors — it can affect energy levels, sleep, mood and much more. TCM looks at the whole picture rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

Denzie takes time to understand your individual circumstances before creating a tailored treatment plan. Acupuncture is a complementary therapy and works alongside, not instead of, conventional medical care.

Common questions

Questions about acupuncture for gut health

Can acupuncture help with IBS?

Acupuncture is a complementary therapy and is not a treatment for IBS. Some people with IBS choose to explore acupuncture alongside their conventional care. Denzie will discuss your individual circumstances at your initial consultation.

Do I need a GP referral?

No referral is needed to book an appointment with Denzie. However, if you have ongoing or unexplained digestive symptoms, it is always advisable to speak with your GP as well.

How many sessions might I need?

This varies from person to person. Denzie will discuss a suggested treatment plan at your initial consultation, based on your individual circumstances.

Is acupuncture safe if I have a digestive condition?

Denzie is a fully qualified, BAcC-registered acupuncturist. She will take a full health history at your initial consultation and discuss any relevant considerations with you.
